Via Ed Bott , there's a great entry by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes about how companies that offer rebates go out of their way to make it difficult to get your rebates. What's makes it even more interesting is the fact that one company has filed for a patent related to the whole process! I've known this for years and now make sure I only buy a product if I'm willing to forego the rebate.
