  • Looking for people who want to change the world

We have a few open positions on the Indigo (WCF) team for people who want to change the world. In this role, you would get the opportunity to really change how millions of developers write distributed applications (if you're a distributed app developer yourself, you know that's a big part of your world!). I'm not exaggerating here, we're not just talking tweaks or incremental improvements, I really mean significant change. We're looking for program managers to help innovate, design, build and ship Indigo v1 and future versions/technologies in the distributed applications space. We have positions for both experienced folks and recent college grads. If you or someone you know is interested, just email me at yassers@microsoft.com . Read More...
  • Underwater Pics from Hawaii

I just uploaded to flickr some of the underwater pics I took while diving at Kona Village last month. There are some cool pictures holding an octopus and a puffer fish (as well as a couple of turtles - there were about a dozen of them that just hung out at that bay). The coolest addition to flickr of late is the batch upload tool . Awesome - exactly what I wanted, and with the same cool look and feel as their website, except it's a windows app. The app figures out what my account is (I guess by looking for cookies), and flickr actually requests me to authorize that copy of the app. The upload tool knows how much of my monthly quota I've used, knows about my existing sets, can tag a bunch of images as a batch, and even create a new set when it's done uploading. Like I said - perfect. The only problem is that when uploading a big batch, sometimes it will "lose the internet connection" and make you enter the set name and tags again for the remaining pictures (at least it doesn't lose the fact that it's already uploaded half of them). Check it out... Read More...
  • Disabling Comments

My blog has recently been subjected to "comment spam" so I'm disabling comments again. It's a shame because I love to hear your opinions/questions but I have over 300 spam comments just in the last week. Read More...
